Our head office, the Lignon site

It is at the Lignon site, which is the headquarters of SIG, that all the technical and administrative activities of the company are performed. It is a perfect combination of concrete, glass and metal with environmental optimisation.

History

History

Services Industriels de Genève (SIG) inaugurated its site in Lignon in 1995. Designed according to an ecological concept, the site is based on respect for the environment and the rational use of energy and fluids. SIG’s goal is to achieve energy neutrality by the year 2020, locally producing renewable energy (photovoltaic plants and heat sensors) for heating and electricity. The site’s outdoor landscaping was carried out with a concern for biodiversity as well as wildlife and vegetation. SIG is the first company in Geneva to be certified "Nature Park" by the Nature & Economy Foundation.

Setting an Example

Setting an Example

Fully aware of the importance of reducing our impact on the environment, we began by focusing on our own headquarters. At SIG, all employees are instructed to review their habits and conduct. And the results are substantial: compared to other Swiss industrial buildings, the head office, the Lignon building, consumes twice as much energy!
