In the 1990s, the quality of this natural site, together with its various buildings, structures and its machine park prompted SIG to undertake its renovation. In 2007, a micro-hydroelectric plant was integrated into the old pumping facilities. It produces 1.7 GWh annually.

The development of Vessy and its micro-plant was done in a way that ensured its eco-friendly operation is closely aligned with the natural character of the watercourse. Thanks to this, the electricity produced there has been awarded the naturemade star, certification since 2008, with this guaranteeing that the source of the energy and the quality of its production is in accordance with the most demanding criteria in Europe. Since 2010, the "Les Berges de Vessy" association has been responsible for promoting the industrial heritage of the dam and for running the site.

The House of the Future which was inaugurated in 2015, hosts temporary exhibitions, educational workshops, tours and conferences.
