Located in an environment of great scenic value, this 620-m² building offers a programme of diverse activities such as temporary exhibitions, educational workshops, tours and conferences. Come and explore it!

Since 2010, the "Les Berges de Vessy" association has been responsible for promoting the industrial heritage of the site and running a programme of activities based on such themes as water, renewable energies, heritage and nature. Circularis – 2023

Mysterious, discreet, omnipresent, the “mascarons” have for centuries cast their gaze on the population who normally ignores them. Originally created to ward off evil spirits, today they are no more than forgotten ornaments on the facades of our buildings.

Trace the Genevan history of these faces carved mainly in stone and discover through a scenography, for the first time outdoors, an extract of some 300 portraits made in Geneva by Dominique Huppi, explained by the texts of Catherine Courtiau.

Ville et Climat - An exhibition on climate management in the city

Cities today are hosts to a large number of human activities and an ever-increasing population. We reside there, we travel there, we work there, we eat there, we play there… in a nutshell, we live there.

Today, in the face of climate change, cities must be reinvented to meet the challenge of “Making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable” (Sustainable Development Goal 11 of the UN programme).

The Ville et Climat exhibition invites you to discover the climate issues that cities face today, from different angles.

Within an immersive and didactic scenography, you will learn to question yourself on the complex issues that climate change poses to the cities of today and tomorrow.

Immersions – An exhibition on water - 2022

Multiple forms, multiple facets, multiple issues, a source of inspiration and the basis of all life, a cause for conflict or a solution for a different tomorrow? Elusive, it flows wildly through the themes of our time, sculpts our landscapes, draws our borders, dictates our policies. While in Switzerland, the myth of the water tower takes on water, the seemingly infinite resource is nevertheless starting to dwindle.

The Immersions exhibition offers an intimate dive into this prodigious aquatic universe.

On a local and collaborative basis, this exhibition lends a voice to the players of the region who commit themselves on a daily basis to preserve this priceless element and offers a showcase for the artists who are inspired by it.

A rich programme accompanies the various audiences throughout the duration of the exhibition.

Tous sous le même toit - 2019

To seek shelter. One of the most fundamental acts for the human being is that of providing himself/herself with shelter. The initial natural solutions - caves and other cavities - quickly evolved thanks to the inexhaustible inventiveness of the homo faber, to give rise to basic forms of roof construction, initially vernacular, subsequently skilled. And, if the roofer has always made the material protection of the building and its inhabitants, he has above all discovered an inexhaustible field for the expression of aesthetic, cultural and even identity values.

By way of this eclectic, educational and essentially incomplete exhibition, which combines images, drawings and models in an immersive way, the Association des Berges de Vessy and its partners invite the public to explore the wonderful adventure of the roofs in Geneva, Switzerland and worldwide.

Humanitarian emergencies - 2018

SIG has introduced you to three exhibitions on the theme of humanitarian emergency.
While the Swiss Red Cross directs us to destinations where disaster prevention and relief are vital, the Braillard Architects Foundation highlights the theme of emergency shelters, essential survival points for displaced people in humanitarian emergencies. The artist Vanna Karamaounas, for her part, will address us on the issues of migration and exodus, by way of the photography series "Exo Mattresses", which features the mattress as a witness to human activity and displacement.
