The SIG Solar III solar power plant:
one of the largest in Switzerland
6,000: this is the impressive number of Solar III photovoltaic panels!
Built near the Verbois Dam, the power plant has been integrated into the site in a way that is environmentally friendly.
Why not come and pay it a visit!
History
When commissioned in 2005, Solar III was the largest solar power plant in Switzerland. It was installed on a plot of land that was freed up following the renewal of the electrical transformer substation at the Verbois Dam. During its integration into the site, SIG made sure to create special areas for the conservation of the location’s flora and fauna.
